Tara Bengle received an exclusive invitation on behalf of the Kettering Foundation
Doctoral Candidate Tara Bengle of the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences Department and the Charlotte Action Research Project received an exclusive invitation to participate in meeting no. 3 of the “Democratic Practices and Community Development” work group. Her invitation comes as a result of an abstract she submitted, titled “Integrating popular education into a model of empowerment planning”, for a special edition of Community Development: The Official Journal of the Community Development Society. The abstract builds on her dissertation proposal which she defended last month. Tara’s attendance at the meeting is being funded by the Kettering Foundation. The meeting is Nov. 4th-6th at Shaker Village in Pleasant Hill, KY.
