Paul McDaniel Secured Position as Project Researcher
Congratulations to Paul McDaniel, Ph.D. Candidate in Geography and Urban Regional Analysis who has secured a position as Project Researcher with the Center for Citizenship and Immigrant Communities at Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC), in Washington, DC. Paul will be working primarily with CLINIC’s Legal Orientation Program for Custodians (LOPC) of Unaccompanied Children – a program funded by the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) in the U.S. Department of Justice, and by the Vera Institute of Justice. LOPC works with appointed custodians of unaccompanied immigrant children (who often find themselves in the US seaching for absent parents or because of human trafficking) as they are processed through various immigration and legal systems. Paul’s dissertation focuses on immigrant geography, public education, and community receptivity in Charlotte and will be defended over the summer of 2012.
