Whalen Dillon

Geography PhD student, Whalen Dillon, received great news this week! His first dissertation chapter “Range-wide threats to a foundation tree species from disturbance interactions” was accepted for publication in the botanical science journal Madroño. Whalen’s geographical research was requested to be part of a special issue “Tanoak History, Values, and Ecology” organized by public policy officials of the USDA Forest Service who will be using his spatial decision support model to make land management decisions in the face of sudden oak death disease and other disturbances, including urbanization.
